Or should I say News of Afghanistan

Either way, here we go!

As usual, the daily round up. Unfortunately, it's mostly fighting.

So just where is Afghanistan, along the road to democracy?

HOM - the problem is that poppy handles dry weather quite well. Up in Parwan and Kapisa, in 2005 the excellent rains meant that poppy got put aside for more, uh, legal crops. But when it's dry - the farmers turn to poppy becuase it beats starving...
