I am only doing this because the Inner Prop did...

I am not worried about the uniform making me look fat - I am worried that I look like a dork.
Unfortunately, no tailor in the world can fix that...

Major,

If you are in Afghanistan fighting the enemy for the good old US of A, then I think you are a hero to the cause and the other question whatever the answer seems sort of down the pike on the question of priority.

I would say, however, not dorky, but definately more appealing (not more attractive) just more appealing in your combat fatigues!! Fighting mode!!

Proud to make your "aquaintance" and hope to hear much from your blog over your deployment. Stay Safe, God bless.

I'm back home now, Anon. That's why I have the CAB (and I have a dorky new pic of me in Class A's. I hadn't had one in a while, and I picked up a new medal or two, and a couple more ribbons while in Afghanistan - so I took Friday off and went to Rock Island Arsenal and got my official DA photo taken. God help me if it is going to be a factor in me making LTC someday...heh heh.
But thanks for the kind words.

As a civie -- I know what the CAB is.. I just don't know which of all that colorful stuff, with that silver thingy on you chest, it is!

Impressed I am.. knowledgeable... I'm not. I love seeing pics and TV shots of you guys with this stuff. Would like it more, if I had some knowledge. Which is the CAB?

The Combat Action Badge is the silver thing.
The ribbons are for the other stuff I have managed to gather over the years.

You are correct about the CAB - its for the non-Infantry types (ironic, since I started out as an enlisted infantyman...).
You would have to enlighten me as to the USMC combat action ribbon - but it sounds similar.
